Client categorisation
Retail Clients
Most of our clients are Retail Clients. If you do not meet the criteria for Professional Client status set out below, you will be classified as a Retail Client by default.
By opening an account with us, you acknowledge that you have sufficient knowledge and experience to trade CFDs, that you understand the risks associated with trading leveraged products, and that you are in a position to absorb potential losses.
Protections you receive as a Retail Client
Retail Clients receive the highest level of protection available under the Seychelles regulatory framework. In particular:
• Segregation of client funds. Your funds are held in segregated accounts, separate from the Company’s own funds, in accordance with the Securities Act 2007 and the Conduct of Business Regulations 2008.
• Negative Balance Protection. Under normal market conditions, your account balance cannot fall below zero as a result of leveraged trading. You will not owe more than you have deposited.
In addition, all our Retail and Professional clients benefit from our obligations on Best Execution, Fair Treatment, Complaints Handling, and Data Protection.
Professional Clients
Professional Clients are clients with the experience, knowledge, and financial resources to make their own investment decisions and assess the risks involved. Because of this, Professional Clients are treated differently and do not receive the protections specifically designed for Retail Clients.
How to become a Professional Client of Trade Set Go?
To become a professional client, you should hold the net assets of at least US$1 million (or equivalent), excluding the value of the primary residence and any holdings of fiat currency, and satisfy the Company’s expertise assessment. The expertise assessment looks at your:
– knowledge of financial markets and products
– the length and frequency of your trading activity
– the size and nature of your past transactions
– your relevant qualifications,
– and the composition of your investment portfolio.
How Professional Clients are treated.
Because Professional Clients are deemed capable of understanding and bearing the risks involved, the retail-specific protections do not apply. In particular, as a Professional Client:
• you are not entitled to Negative Balance Protection;
• you are not subject to retail leverage limits;
• you are assumed to have the experience and resources to assess the suitability of services and products yourself.
